I grew up as a methodist and was taught about sexual purity. I am gay so my story is about homosexuality. I lived in a moderate home when it came to religion but was taught to embrace the idea that homosexuality was worth damnation. As a kid, I was told that homosexuality was evil.

My name is Sergey Fox and I live in Lebanon, Pa. I came to be a Christian due to depression and felt hope believing in god after I thought I "found god" at school in 2009.
When I became Atheist, religious beliefs that I held began to make me angry. I was angry at the deception I unwittingly followed. I felt, at the time, that hitting back at religion with a lot of bad mouthing would smooth over my anger. It didn't.
As a scientist at heart (growing up in a religious household) I found very early in my teens that so many things in the bible simply didn't make any sense, or were physically impossible. I saw no possible mechanism in which any being could know all, see all, and control all.
I grew up in a home with two parents who were both Christians. They never went to church that often but at their insistence as well as the religious basis of our education system my brother and I were both altar boys in a Catholic denominated church.
